Does your program have a CSCS-certified Field Experience Site Supervisor, responsible for supervising student interns during day-to-day activities and providing instruction, assessment, and feedback?*

Do members of your strength and conditioning faculty, responsible for teaching didactic courses and hands-on subject matter, have a current CSCS certification?*

If “NO”: Per CASCE standards, members of your program’s strength and conditioning faculty must have current CSCS certification if they teach courses with content specific to strength and conditioning as defined in Standard III.C.6-10 in the CASCE Professional Standards and Guidelines.

Curriculum

Is your program a minimum of a *concentration* or equivalent (e.g. emphasis, track, or minor) with a *strength and conditioning* title?*

Yes

If “NO”: Per CASCE standards, programs must be a minimum of a concentration, which is a clearly defined sub-field within a strength and conditioning related major. Your program may also be the equivalent of a concentration — for example, an emphasis, track, or minor. Additionally, your program must state “strength and conditioning” in the title affiliated with a formal degree program.

Are students required to attend field experiences that apply areas of instruction included in the curriculum?*

Yes

If “NO”: To improve athlete safety and ensure that students are prepared for their professional careers, CASCE requires that students have the chance to apply their knowledge, skills, and abilities outside of the classroom. “Field Experience” is a general term — programs may call it “practical experience,” “internship,” or another appropriate title.

Outcomes

Does your program conduct formal, ongoing assessments that determine how well your program meets its stated outcomes (e.g. admissions criteria, graduate placement rates, retention, CSCS exam success, etc.)?*

If “NO”: Per CASCE standards, programs must have an ongoing, formal assessment process that determines the extent to which the program meets its stated outcomes. For detailed information on the assessment process, please refer to Section IV in the CASCE Professional Standards and Guidelines, with a particular focus on Standard IV.F., which details requirements for first-time pass rates on the CSCS exam.

Please note: First-time pass rates will not be required in the first three years of accreditation. Pass rates will be based on a 3-year aggregate and will be required in your program’s annual report.
